Rezumat/Summary
Personajul principal al acestei cărți se numește Emma Corrigan, o fată obișnuită care lucrează la o firmă numită Panther Cola, are un iubit (aproape) perfect și dorește cu ardoare să obțină o promovare. Aflată într-o călătorie de afaceri, cu avionul, și fiind foarte speriată de zbor, din pricina unor turbulențe ajunge să îi povestească unui străin atrăgător cele mai intime secrete. Astfel, străinul, care se doveste a fi fondatorul companiei la care ea lucrează, află atât lucruri despre viața ei personală - cât de incomozi sunt bikini primiți de la iubitul ei, că citește rezumatul cărților considerate valoroase și își da mai apoi cu părerea despre ele, că și cum le-ar fi citit, că iubitul ei nu e foarte talentat în pat - cât și lucruri despre ceea ce face ea la servici - nu cunoaște termeni de specialitate, a aruncat la coș dosarul unui client problematic și că destesta cafeaua de la birou.
Spre ghinionul (?) ei, străinul va veni să lucreze la companie o perioadă, iar Emma, rușinată, încearcă să-l evite până când își dă seama că e îndrăgostită până peste cap de el și că, deși el știe toate secretele ei, ea nu știe absolut nimic despre el.
Lucrurile încep să devină ineresante în momentul în care, în mod misterios, cafetiera de la serviciul Emmei este înlocuită cu un aparat de cafea nou, modern, și care face o cafea delicioasă.
The main character of this book is called Emma Corrigan , an ordinary girl who works at a company called Panther Cola, has a (-n almost) perfect boyfriend and longs to get a promotion. While being on a business trip, the plane experiences turbulence, and she tells an appealing stranger all her deepest secrets. The stranger, who is, actually, the founder of the company where she works, finds out both, her personal secrets - how uncomfortable the bikinis she received from her boyfriend are, that she reads the summary of intellectual books and then talks about them like she had read them, that her boyfriend is not very talented in bed - and things about what she does (or not) at work - everyone uses the word ‘operational’ all the time but she hasn't a clue what it means, that she threw a problematic client's file into the bin and that she hates the coffee from the office.
To her misfortune (?), the stranger comes to work at the company for a while, and Emma, embarrassed, tries to avoid him until she realizes that she's madly in love with him, and that, while he knows all her secrets, she doesn't know anything about him.
Things start to get interesting when mysteriously, the coffee machine from Emma's workplace is replaced by a new coffee machine, more modern, that makes delicious coffee.

★★★★★ Aceasta carte a ajuns direct in topul cartilor mele preferate, inca de la primele pagini. O ador! Am recitit-o de cel putin 5 ori, e o lectura usoara si super amuzanta. Persoanjul principal, Emma, este foarte comic si dezorganizat, chiar ma identific cu ea din cand in cand, iar actiunea este amuzanta, surpinzatoare si, desi finalul fericit este de asteptat, modul in care se petrec intamplarile te tine in suspans.
Mi se pare ca Sophie Kinsella (una din autoarele mele preferate) a avut o idee foarte originala atunci cand a scris aceasta carte si datorita ei am inceput sa indragesc genul "chic-lit".
★★★★★ This book went straight to my "top favorite books" list, from the first few pages. I adore it! I've re-read it at least 5 times, it's easy to read and super fun. The main character, Emma, is very charismatic and fun, even though she's unorganized, and I even relate to her from time to time, and the whole book's plot is amusing, surprising and, even though all Chic books have happy endings so it's something predictable, the way things happen keep you interested.
I think that Sophie Kinsella (one of my favorite authors) had a brilliant and original idea when writing this book and it's because of her that I started liking "chic-lit".
